As stated before in another review, this should come standard, at least on the Glock 20/21 MCK. I do understand however, that the plastic rail is a great lower cost alternative for someone just wanting something to enjoy at the range but not place any trust in or seriously train with.
The stability for the optic is a plus, and I would have got this anyway for that but I expedited this purchase because of more pressing reasons.
With the plastic rail, shouldering the weapon properly for recoil control resulted in a flex in the chassis that caused excess friction to the slide, resulting in failures to feed, most of the time holding the slide back completely until I released pressure from my shoulder. Another issue is that the torsion that I apply when gripping it in two hands caused the rail to warp to an extremely noticeable degree, which would substantially alter the zero of the weapon when using iron sights. With my eotech it held zero well enough to maintain a 2MOA group, which is more than adequate for the ranges I would engage with it at (I use it as a quicker access alternative to my duty pistol, rifle, or shotgun when in my patrol car).
I am happy to report that all these problems were fixed with the addition of this aluminum rail, and in my opinion the entire package is still well worth it and I am extremely happy with my MCK.

Provides stability for your optics.

I didn’t trust the plastic rail that is standard. Upgraded to this no regrets. The aluminum is the way it should be! I feel like my optic holds a better zero and the entire chassis has better reinforcement
