The original shorter brace for the Gen 2 never made my day. Got this extended brace and all was OK with the MCK. With the G17 and red dot mounted, 100 yard targets are too easy. Get one and thank me later.
So when i heard this product came out i was so excited ive had the gen1 mck for a while now and the thought of not being able to shoot in its folded position would really bug me. until this product launched i ordered all gen2 upgrades and am happy with it all accept the minor but huge detail when in the folded postion the gen2 brace is able to allow my “RIGHT” hand to grab ahold of the backstrap of the gun correctly and firm like the grip should be but the pressure upward on the brace where the latch is from the side of my hand barely pushes upward to where if you grip it hard and let it rip it will possibly not all the time though, push out of place and kinda hang but does not interfere with function… however if your hand is barely and i mean “barely” below the normal way you grip the whole backstrap of the pistol grip it is totally rocking without a hitch but you lose that small amount of control. The thing is my hands are i wouldnt say big but its above standard and has some meat on them but thier definitely not fat hands my friend has slightly thinner hands and his hands fit great my girlfriends hands feel great and thier 2 different sized hands and it does not get in the way. I guess its really if you have a wide palm than most likely the side of your hand will rub or squeeze against the brace pushing upward on the latch system that keeps it in place. this is all from a consumer point of view just my opinion… But with all this considered i can totally run and gun and train in home dry fire with out the force of my hand opening it. it just took some getting used to and as for LEFT HANDED people it is all too accesible for your proper grip wide palms or not since the brace is not on that left side when folded and are able to grip the right side of the grip not so much the rail thumb rest but the actual ergo grip when in its folded position… now lets talk about when the GEN2 brace is unfolded. The feel is just immediately noticeable by the sturdy contruction on the tail of the brace the extra bit of length isnt noticeable and just goes from the hip to shoulder and ADS really well it is a great upgrade happy i have it now. Dont hesitate to grab it. its totally able to fire folded but theres just a couple things to notice for certain right handed sized people i had to mention if the latch and brace were either a little higher or just the brace was a bit thinner it would perferctly accommodate proper grip on the gun for my right hand
