You need a spare if you will regularly insert and remove your handgun into the MCK. Which will be necessary if you shoot with regularity since you need to clean your gear. It will be interesting to see how long these last. Perhaps a metal, softer than steel, but harder than the polymer would be a better long term solution.

I needed some spare charging handles so I bought 2. These handles fit perfectly, just as my last handle did. As I was learning to install my Glock in my original kit, I was forcing the pistol too hard into the handle, damaging some of the sawtooth receiver on my charging handle. Now that I know how to install, this wear issue should be resolved. I’m not an engineer, but it would be nice if the charging handles were made of more rigid plastic or composite that wouldn’t show as much wear.

Fits great. Was quite a hassle to actually get the part though. Considering the original broke with less than 50 rounds …. one would expect a company to offer free replacing. I ordered said part and paid for it. Had to go round and round with customer service just to get them to ship my part. Overall great product.
