CAA USA is very excited to reveal our new Micro Conversion Kit (MCK) for the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm/.40s&w models.
The Micro Conversion Kit for the M&P Shield is the thinnest MCK we have ever produced due to the slim nature of the handgun itself. Featuring key advantages from our popular Gen2 platform, the MCKSHIELD will come standard with a Gen2 stabilizer, an aluminum top Picatinny rail, and a magazine button catch/release for stronger retention on the extra mag holder of the MCK.
Advantages of the Micro Conversion Kit:
– No pistol disassembly required – Just place pistol into the kit, lock, and go

– Side Picatinny rails for mounting additional accessories, i.e… thumb-rests
– Ambidextrous, fast and easy handling
– Gen 2 stabilizer that fires in folded position.
– Front spare magazine holder retained by magazine button catch.
– Built-in charging handle allowing for quicker assembly/disassembly
– Exposed slide release for direct contact and easier use
– Easy concealment and carry
*Shield models with a manual safety will fit but the safety cannot be accessed while the handgun is installed.

I ordered the kit for my S&W 9mm with a 4.25 inch barrel. Prior to even starting to install the 9mm, I watched several videos to see how to. One from the factory showed a Glock being installed and the video was smooth, easy, and seemingly a breeze to insert.
Installing my S&W didn’t go as smooth, easy, and certainly wasn’t a breeze.
Part of the problem is that the written manual is a generic but not specific to any specific model weapon.
It also seems that the original kit was designed for a Glock then retrofitted for other model weapons had the “fit” is not as smooth and easy as the Glock fit.
Perhaps they realize that they need other mfg’ers and models instead of just Glock, but in my opinion they haven’t taken the time and effort to make sure the manuals are clear for every model.

I Just got it and so far it looks great and after a little bit of fumbling with it I figure out how to mount my S&W Shield with no problems (I’m not one for reading instructions). Haven’t had a chance to use it yet but it seems to function fine. It will definitely get attention at the range.
