WHAT DOES “ICW” MEAN — AND WHY IT MATTERS
You might see the letters “ICW” and wonder what they stand for. ICW means “In Conjunction With.” It simply means this plate is designed to reach its full Level III rating when it is used together with a soft armor backer. Think of it like a team: the plate handles the hard-hitting rifle rounds, and the soft backer behind it absorbs the leftover energy (called backface deformation) so it does not transfer through to your body.
Here is the good news: the CAA Rapid Deployment Ballistic Sling Bag already has built-in padding that acts as the soft armor backing. WHY IS IT SO LIGHT?
